Losing a loved one is one of life’s most difficult experiences. Grief is a natural and healthy response to loss. Receiving support during the bereavement process can help individuals, families and communities heal. These services provide a range of grief and support resources to offer comfort and guidance:
Bereavement Services
The hospice program offers bereavement services to support families and loved ones in the first year after a loved one’s passing. Providing comfort and guidance during the grieving process, this service is available to families of Hope Hospice patients through Partners In Home Care.
Partners Hope Foundation, the nonprofit dedicated to supporting Hope Hospice, offers community members workshops and discussions on a variety of end-of-life topics including grief and loss. Events may be held at the center or at other locations in the community.
Tamarack Grief Resource Center is Montana’s most comprehensive grief center, bringing compassion and care to individuals and communities navigating grief and loss. Tamarack offers a variety of services and programs including bereavement retreats, grief support groups and counseling. After losing a loved one, many older adults find they need extra help and support to navigate life transitions and access needed resources. Missoula Aging Services offers a wide range of services to those aged 60 and older, including assistance with Medicare/Medicaid and other benefits, connection to community services, help with shopping and household tasks, money-management, meals and opportunities for social engagement.
